.

This is a great recipe to cook-up most anytime of the year especially after a holiday ham dinner and there is a soup bone leftover.  In this post, you’ll discover how easy it is to whip up a Lady Cream Peas and Ham Soup Meal.

Lady Cream Peas and Ham Soup Recipe

Cream Lady Pea Soup

I came across a Facebook post on the GardenChat group where a member shared these peas.  The package looked interesting with a Camilla Flower and peas I’d never heard of.  Easy to order on Amazon and have right at my door in a few days.  Today I decided to soak the peas (which are really a butter bean variety) and make a ham soup with holiday leftover bone and scraps.  I am using the Power Pressure Cooker XL to make this meal.  I suppose you could create the same dish old school with a slow cooker or on the stovetop which I don’t recommend.   Check out the recipe and tell me what you think by commenting on this post.

Don’t be shy... share with me on Twitter @brenhaas what you think of this meal!

I didn’t take too many photos or videos today of this meal because it really is super easy to create.  Just follow the simple directions above and let the Pressure Cooker do its thing!

You know I am an Amazon gal so I hope you will use my link to order your Lady Cream Peas.

And if you’ve looked at my other XL Power Pressure Cooker Recipes I can’t believe you’ve not ordered yours yet!  Do it and use my Amazon XL Power Pressure Cooker Link to show me some love.  If for some reason the Amazon link doesn’t work let me know by commenting on this post.

By the way… here is the ham I kind of destroyed while warming up.  It happens to the best of us!

Baked Ham

Lady Cream Peas and Ham Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pound dried lady cream peas, soaked overnight
  • 2 cups of diced ham and ham bone
  • 10 cups of water
  • 2 tablespoons of your favorite olive oil
  • 1 medium size sweet onion chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of your favorite Italian seasoning
  • Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Start up the Power Pressure Cooker on the ‘Chicken / Meat’ setting. Once warmed up add the Olive oil.
  2. Slowly (careful not to burn yourself) add the chopped onion. Saute will take about 1 minute so stay close by.
  3. Add Garlic – mix in well with onions
  4. Add about 1 cup of the water as you add in the chopped pieces of ham
  5. Carefully pour in the beans and remaining water. Watch the water line on the Power Pressure Cooker so you don’t go over recommended level.
  6. Put lid on Power Pressure Cooker and set at bean setting for 25 minutes
  7. Serve when ready – I let the Power Pressure Cooker release on its one to keep all those yummy flavors together
  8. You can add salt and pepper but I think it taste perfect as is!
