There are a few key things to keep in mind when purchasing the Clematis like the one in this video today. Highlights from the video are outlined here..

When buying a Clematis similar to the one featured in today’s video, there are several important factors to consider. Key points from the video are summarized below. First, always inspect the root system before purchasing. A healthy clematis should have strong, well-developed roots, which are crucial for successful growth and flowering. Look for a pot with roots that are neither too dry nor overly soggy, as both can indicate potential problems.

Next, consider the location where you plan to plant your clematis. These vines thrive in areas where they can enjoy full sun on their foliage but prefer their roots shaded and cool. You can achieve this by planting ground cover or placing a decorative mulch around the base of the plant.

It’s also essential to select a variety that suits your climate and garden aesthetics. Clematis come in a dazzling array of colors and bloom times, so choose a type that complements your existing garden and aligns with your seasonal preferences.

Finally, remember to provide a sturdy support structure for your clematis vine to climb. Trellises, fences, or even pergolas work wonderfully and will allow your plant to display its lovely blooms to their fullest potential.

With these tips in mind, you’ll be well on your way to cultivating a vibrant clematis that adds a splash of color and charm to your garden.

  1. They are so beautiful! I planted two different colors together. What a show. I have never bought them in a bag like that. I got mine from cuttings. I have a couple of silver lace climatis also.

    • Two Clematis is a wonderful idea. I actually have two growing on the photo in this blog post. Somehow one that I thought was dead ended up growing again the year after I planted the new one to replace it. Today they both grow together but the new one is much stronger. I will get a better photo of that when it blooms again this spring / summer. Thank you for commenting Rita – I appreciate your support.

    • Thank you for leaving feedback here Marcia. I appreciate that you took the time. 🌸
