More About Snowbell Hellebore
This petite hellebore has been blooming since Christmas! I have never had one of my Christmas rose varieties bloom this time of year. The ‘Snowbell’ from Walters Gardens has been in my garden for over five years now. Semi-double – pure white flowers that are about 3 inches across. Aparently, because this plant is in the h. niger family the bloom season is much earlier then my other hellebores in the Wedding Party series.
Over night we had a low of around 20F – the blooms were a little droopy this morning but has the temperature raised to around 30*F and a little sunshine it was back to semi-upward facing blooms.
I am just so thankful to have this beauty blooming under my maple tree this time of year. It is a nice reminder that spring will be here before you know it!
