This was my fifth year enjoying the amazing Ember Waves Western Arborvitae in my home garden. In this post I share a few images and video featuring this beautiful shrub at the end of summer.  I hope you scroll down and check out what I personally have to share about this shrub.

Ember Waves Western Arborvitae Video

As I watch the sun begin to shine in the morning above the woodline I was inspired to create this video.  Many of the trees and shrubs in my garden provide a peaceful place for my family and wildlife.  This Ember Waves Western Arborvitae is one that does all the above!  In the video below I share why I am a fan of this shrub.

About the Ember Waves Western Arborvitae

There are many reasons I personally recommend this shrub.  It happens to be a fairly fast growing plant in my hardiness zone.  The color change throughout the season is another favorite highlight.  Check out a few additional growing facts about this plant below:

  • Rated for hardiness zone 5-8
  • Does great in full sun or part shade in my home garden (zone 5b)
  • Water weekly in extreme heat full sun conditions until established
  • Mature height of 25 feet and 8 feet wide
  • Perfect for mass planting to create a privacy screen and windbreak
  • Year-round color interest
