Moving Mangave in the Autumn Video

Mangave in Container

Originally I sat up my tripod and used my iPhone to create a video sharing how I was digging up my Mangave.  The video below stream live on my Facebook GardenChat group.  Did you know that the watch party shares your videos that are on Private groups to a public page? No joke!  I download the video content in this edited version of the live stream.  I am not sure I will do this again… let me know what you think of the content and style.

Highlights of the Moving Mangave in the Autumn Share

The plant I am digging up in the video is the Silver Fox Mangave.  The succulent didn’t get as blue/ silver as I thought it would in full sun.  After a dry and hot summer planted directly in the ground.  I wonder if it was just too good of soil where I had it planted?

As the plant grows it is starting to look more like the ‘Tooth Fairy’ Mangave I lost this past winter in the dome from over watering.

The succulent trailing plant around the mangave is the Aptenia cordifolia ‘Variegata’.  The plant is also known as the Variegated Baby Sun Rose. I did read so where that it is in the ice plant family.  I LOVE this plant.  The plant makes an amazing ground cover as seen surrounding my Mangave in this post.

Inkblot Mangave was the first of my collection.  I feel in love with this variety after spending the winter with the plant in the dome.  It is so fun to play with and add to different growing conditions. Totally shocking how this plant performs in sun and shade! I will share more about this plant as I continue Moving Mangave in the Autumn.  Stay Tuned!
