My New ZZ Plant From Trimmings
I am not talking about the popular band from the 80’s… this is the ZZ plant. This plant is one of my favorites growing in my home and greenhouse dome. There is bond to be more images on one of the thousands of archive images in storage. I just can’t find it today so please check back for more images I will load as I come across the file. In the mean time, enjoy the video below showing the healthy root that grew from the trimming I cut off of my large zz plant.

More About The ZZ Plant
This is one of my first houseplants to grow in our country home that can be somewhat dry due to the wood stove. In the past, the zz plant was in the driest location and still grow amazingly! Maybe this is why it is truly one of my favorite houseplants.
Over the summer the plant is outdoors where it didn’t do the best. Even out of direct sun and with bright light the plant didn’t put on new growth on the porch. It was at that time I took a cutting out the greenhouse and tried growing a new root. After about 3-4 months with super moist soil, summer greenhouse heat and humid conditions the root was sprouting out of the container.
- Tropical houseplant that is sure to thrive in most any home conditions is this plant.
- The ZZ plant does best when it is forgotten indoors.
- Loves dry side and grown in bright, indirect light and can tolerate low light indoors.
