Where do you Garden?  It is important to me to know your hardiness zone if you are growing in the USA.   It is super important to know when your last frost and first frost will be when trying to grow outside.

Where Do You Garden?

Seems like a strange question to ask but it really is the first step in growing. This is the first question I ask folks online when they inquire about gardening.  Personally for me, I believe it is the best way to grow successfully.  For growing a successful garden is is recommended that you know your hardiness zone.

Hardiness Zone and Garden

What in the world is a hardiness zone?  I know, years ago when I was new to ‘online’ gardening I didn’t really get why those zones set up by the USDA were important for me. I never play by the ‘rules’ anyways.  It took about 3 growing seasons to learn that knowing when your last frost is determined what seeds I should grow in Ohio.  So you don’t want to grow from seed?  Well… never say never!  Growing successfully includes checking trees, plants and flowers that are rated for your zone. If you know your zone you will save alot of money and time planting.

Fact: in 2012 the hardiness zone map was renovated based on 1976-2005 weather data.  (cool stuff really!)

Find what hardiness zone you are in by checking the USDA map on their official site located at: USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map Website

Well now that you know your hardiness zone I hope you consider sharing it with me. I am excited to share from my hardiness zone along with year-round growing which puts me in a zone 8 as well.  Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of this page and leave me a comment.
