You know it is a special event when I gift my succulent babies.  In this post, I share a creative container succulent gift project in this post was created for a friend with love!

Creative Container Succulent Gift Project

I have so much fun in the dome. During this planting event, it was 80*F in the dome and only 30*F outside. Be sure to scroll down to see how cute these turned out for the baby shower!

Where to Get The Pots

If you are a member on the GardenChat Group you’ll remember I asked for suggestions when planting these cute little containers.   We had some great suggestions but ended up going with baby succulents because I have lots of those in my dome greenhouse.

My friend purchased the containers on Amazon.  Each container was wrapped professionally and the containers arrived ready to use.  I am starting to think that the painted terra cotta is better for growing succulents.  In the past, I’ve been using plain terra cotta containers but I hope to start planting mine to protect my succulent babies.

Picking The Right Succulents

I grow many different succulents in my home and garden.  My geodesic biodome is becoming a Conservatory JUNGLE when it comes to unique plants including a wide selection of succulents I’ve picked up along the way.   My biggest obstacle over the years has been keeping track of the plant’s name.  I am working on that! I have been creating the right environment to get some amazing new plants from the old ones that I simple to propagate.  For the project in this post, I want to give a plant that will be enjoyed indoors and hopefully inspire them to grow more.  Here are the 3 varieties:

  • Jade Plant because of it’s diverse form and is excellent indoors and outdoors
  • ‘Black Gem’ (x Alworthia pentagona): A hybrid of Aloe speciosa Haworthia cymbiformis.
  • Kalanchoe (Kalanchoe blossfeldiana)is a great plant to grow indoors and blooms easily. I shared more about the ones I grow in my website at: Kalanchoe.
  • Aeonium ‘Kiwi‘, Aeonium decorum ‘Kiwi‘, Aeonium haworthii ‘Variegata’, Aeonium haworthii ‘Tricolor’, Aeonium haworthii ‘Dream Color’

Photos From The Project

I had so much fun with this project.  The only thing I wish I would have included as a small removable plastic container but we were using what we had on hand.

All smiles because I love giving my succulent babies space to grow.  In the photo below I am enjoying the afternoon being crafty with succulents.

I had so much fun putting these together and I just know they will be the hit of the party.  The photo below features kiwi succulent and a Hen & Chicks in the background (which I do not recommend for inside growing).

Baby Shower Succulent Container Gifts

Look how cute they turned out for the Baby Shower ( photo below).  I love the little sign encouraging the guest to watch them grow.  These turned out just perfect.
