Banana Granola Pops Recipe

Craving those unforgettable frozen banana and chocolate treats we enjoy when we spend the day at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio during the summer as the warm temperatures in the geodesic dome is making me think it is truly summer.  Well the park doesn’t open for another month so I was very excited to find this recipe that taste very close to those mouth watering treats only these are much healthier and you can make them at home.

Banana Granola Pops Recipe

  • 4 Bananas
  • 3 tablespoons of your favorite granola
  • 1/4 cup of chopped fine walnuts
  • 6 ounces melting dark chocolate chips or bark
  • 8 Popsicle sticks

  1. Peel, cut bananas in half crosswise and insert Popsicle sticks. Place on a parchment-lined tray, cover with plastic wrap and freeze for about 3 hours.
  2. Place walnuts and Granola into a shallow dish. Melt chocolate in a double boiler over slightly simmering water, over low heat, constantly stirring. You can also use the microwave for this step but be sure to be cautious.
  3. Pour the chocolate into a tall glass. Dip each banana into the chocolate and roll in the granola straightaway. Place on a parchment-lined tray. Serve immediately or wrap individually in parchment paper or plastic wrap in the freezer

P.S. I’m not a roller coaster passenger any more… I enjoy going with my family and spending the day watching them enjoy the rides.  I love looking at the gardens on location and the view of Lake Erie is always a treat.  Be sure to follow my shares featuring Cedar Point on my website.
