Winter Dome Gardening is the best in March especially in Ohio.  In this post I share a fun video featuring the snow day walk out to the dome greenhouse.  Wait until you see what is blooming and how SPRING is here thanks to the sun.

Snow Day in March Planting Pansies in the Garden Video

On this fun adventure, I take you the LONG WAY back to the geodesic biodome where my winter garden is growing. My puppy Olivia has a great time racing around in the heavy snow that fell earlier that day. Listen to the birds, jump over fallen trees and check out the green still thriving in the woods in the video below.

Images From Winter Dome Gardening

I love sharing my images from my iPhone with you all.  In the collection below you will see photos I snapped while out in the dome. It is so much fun to compare the different stages that plants grow in this environment.  Looking under leaves and moving around a few containers is like searching for Easter eggs.  It is so much fun to lift a leaf and find another garden underneath just beginning.   Enjoy the photos – I wish I could post all 100 plus I took during this afternoon adventure.

Dome Update For Last Week of March

In this post I share my latest vlog featuring the late March dome greenhouse update.  Check out highlights from the roses, new dahlia and vegetable starter plants after night in the 40’s. Dome Update For Last Week of March Dome Life | Growing Year-Round in the 20 Foot Ohio Dome This is just a 10 minute clip from content I could present from sunrise to sunset.  I am excited to share with you how the rose varieties I am growing perform in this space.  The dahlias available locally this time of year are tempting m.  In the video you will see a variety I found at Walmart. Scroll down below the video to see highlights of my favorite outtakes today. This video is part of my Bren Haas Channel.  I hope you check out additional videos on my website in vlogs. Dome Update Highlight Plants This year I am really trying hard to get more content on my site featuring the plants I grow.  The vlogs I put together will highlight some of my favorites that I feel are important to talk about.   If you have questions or want to hear more about an item mentioned please get a hold of me on my site.   Here are a few of the plants and topics mentioned in the video I want to highlight. Tomato and Pepper Starter Plants Tomato Starter Plants pepper plants Compared to years past I wasn’t completely shocked that the 2-3 inch tall starter plants did well during a spring night.  The temp stick (device we use to record temperatures in the dome) shows the dome hit 48*F over night.  This means that the location of the starter plants most likely was around 45*F on the far north /east side of the 20 foot dome.  In this post I share a photo of what they look like after a few very cool days in the dome with every little sunlight. Check out my posts featuring the tomatoes and Peppers I am growing this year! Dahlia I’ve got a new dahlia for this year that I found at Walmart. I wasn’t going to purchase any this year but I couldn’t resist.  The image looks awesome and there were only 2 packages left so I grabbed one.  It is the Zingaro Dahlia and I’ll be sure to share updates as it blooms and grows.  For now it is planted in a baggy in my dome. Roses in the Dome mini rose Roses in the Dome I’ve been trialing a few new roses in the dome that are in this March update.  I’ll list the ones I have growing in containers below.  They all are doing great year-round especially in containers.  The containers make it easy to move the plant out of the super hot and humid conditions during the summer months. February Dome Garden Sunset

Geodesic Bio Dome February Update

This time of year is one of the most exciting in the Geodesic Bio Dome.  The sun is getting higher in the sky which means more sunshine in this growing space. In this post find loads of images and notes about what to expect in February. https://youtu.be/w6dScW3iQeI This video can be found on my Bren Haas Video Channel. Geodesic Bio Dome February Update This is my six February growing in the geodesic bio dome.  Each year with every season the space gets even more magical.  I really don’t know any other way to describe the feeling. The weather maybe unseasonably warm or blizzard conditions and it really doesn’t effect the growing space under the dome.   This week, as the photos here will display, was a typical February in hardiness zone 5b Ohio season.  A few days in the 50’s and back down to the 20’s outside didn’t effect the plants growing inside in a negative way. The walk out to the Geodesic Bio Dome in February can be magical.  Geese are flying over heading north and ice shimmers as it melts during the sunny day. This is a great time to get ‘winter’ photos in nature because there is almost always a blue sky. This is the time when plants are starting to ‘wake up’ and take on new growth.  Below are a few of my favorite succulents and what they are starting to do for 2022. Happy is the mood in the dome indeed… the outside world can be turning upside down but only peace is found in this space.   February in the Geodesic Bio Dome is the place to be!
