Winnebago Forest City Iowa Video
In this video, I share some highlights from the trip. I took many photos that I hope to share in this post. Iowa is really a beautiful state to check out and this video doesn’t even scratch the surface to how amazing it is. I recommend spending at least a week researching sights before heading out. RVing is the way to go because you can always find a spot to stay for the night and the sights on the well-maintained backroads are the best! Watch the Video! The capture of the RV toy came up as the cover and I didn’t have the heart to change it. I LOVED that toy as a kid!!This video is on my Bren Haas YouTube Channel. Pammel Park, Forest City Iowa
Address: 562-898, US-69, Forest City, IA 50436
The park is tucked behind playgrounds and baseball fields in town so it is kind of hidden. The campsites are only $15 a night with electric hook-up. They have a nice walking trail that is along the Winnebago River. The Road is paved but the camping spots are grass. Be sure you have a doormat or something to wipe your feet. Also, I would consider it kind of a modern-day primitive because there were LOTS OF BUGS!
Northern Catalpa Tree my husband and I spotted in the park. I had fun finding out the ID via Twitter during our walk. I hope you will check these out!
It would be cool to add one to our home property but not sure why I don’t see this variety already in our area. It is a beautiful tree…. a little messy but who cares!
Clear Lake City Iowa | Buddy Holly Crash Site
Address: Clear Lake, IA 50428
Crash site of Charles Hardin Holley, known professionally as Buddy Holly. He was an American musician and singer-songwriter who was a central and pioneering figure of the mid-1950s rock and roll.
There was a storm coming in when we made the 1/3 mile walk in the farm field where the memorial is located.

As you can see from photos below the campsites are spacious and left somewhat natural.

Thanks for connecting with me Melissa. I’ll have to look through my photography from this trip and see if I can post more in a PDF or something. It was a fun trip a few years ago traveling in our RV with our pup Oliver. I remember it being a very relaxing trip with lots of farms and very nice folks in Iowa. We drove there from our home in Northwest Ohio.
It looks so beautiful out there I want to visit. I want to get a book of forest City Iowa so I can see all the nice sites
