White Dogwood and Butterweed Image Collection

I fell in love with this roadside.  It really is amazing how the same road transforms each week during the growing season with new colors from native plants and trees.  Both my husband and I are inspired by this landscape.  In the section below I want to share just a small gallery of the images I snapped with my iphone.  The video on this page was just a quick capture to show you upclose the experience.

Japanese Anemone Windflower Video The video on this post and image share are long anticipated. I am finally taking this off my list to write about on the website.  Unfortunately, I can’t take credit for growing these from seed or bareroot because they were in the garden.  Surrounded by beautiful hostas and a few new additions to this part sun garden the bees zoom around enjoying the flowers.  Check out the video that shows how this plant makes the space sing in late summer to autumn. This video is a part of my Bren Haas Channel.  If you are having issues viewing this please reach out to me at any time on my site. About The Japanese Anemone Windflower Japanese Anemone Pink Bloom Pink Late Season Blooms Japanese anemone flowers Japanese anemone is Pollinator Friendly A few years back I tried growing a few new varieties of anemone and they didn’t survive the winter.  The ones in my hardiness zone 5b garden are definitely Anemone tomentosa Robustissima I found on Bluestone Perennial website.   The plants I have actually spread over the last few years after we pruned the shade tree back away from this space.  The plant gets a nice later afternoon sun and morning sun.   Below are a few growing facts about this plant: Perennial Rated for zone 4-8 Sun to part sun Normal, clay to acidic soil Pink flowers from late summer to early autumn Pollinator friendly Grows to about 3-4 feet tall All of these are reasons I highly recommend adding this plant to your home garden.   Be sure to check out other perennials grown in this home garden space on my website. Grand Cascade Butterfly Bush Review

In this post I share a video review of the Grand Cascade Butterfly Bush growing in my home garden.  Wait until you see the images featuring these giant lilac like blooms with a super fragrant scent.  Don’t miss growing tips and more for your easy to care for landscape. Grand Cascade Butterfly Bush Review It took me a few weeks to gather all these clips about why I JUST LOVE the Grand Cascade Buddleia Butterfly Bush.  You’ll love seeing how it pops into full bloom for late summer until Autumn color and fresh scent. This Video is found on my Bren Haas YouTube channel.  Be sure to let me know by comment on my website if you have issues viewing. Highlights of Growing Buddleia Cascade Bush This is a fun plant to talk and share photos of.  Each time I walked out to take a photo of the current bloom there were butterflies or bees fluttering about. Don’t panic… you can plant this shrub in late summer just be sure you water it well so the roots get established. At a time when many other plants are already spent for the season, this variety is just starting to show off.  The plants passive coloring and texture makes a wonderful backdrop for perennials, and you’ll love the visiting butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds.  If I can get my hands on a few more I will defiantly be adding them to more areas on my property.  You can look for these at your local garden center or have them reach out to Walters Gardens in Michigan.  Cascade Butterfly Bush Pair with other Pollinator Friendly Plants Did I mention how fragrant this shrub is?! Above are a few of my favorite images I took today featuring the giant and super fragrant blooms.  If you can’t find the Buddleia Grand Cascade at local garden center there are a few on Amazon!  More Butterfly Information  Let’s Connect Have you ever seen such huge blooms on a buddleia or butterfly bush?  Be sure to comment on my post and share this with your friends who maybe interested in growing low maintenance plants.   I hope you consider growing one of these grand cascade butterfly bush in your home garden. Russian Sage in My Home Garden Video

Russian Sage Pollinator Friendly In Home Gardens

In this post I share videos featuring Russian Sage in my home garden.  The video features two things I absolutely love – Bees and Perennials in my Ohio Garden!  Start out with my vlog featuring 2 varieties growing in my landscape.  I hope you will take a look below. Vlog Review From My Garden Check out this video featuring the 2 different sages growing in my front garden landscapes. Creating videos to share globally has been my passion for years.  Find more videos like this on my Bren Haas YouTube Channel.   About Russian Sage in My Home Garden I first fell in love with this plant years ago when I brought a plant home not knowing what it was.  I liked the scent when you rubbed the leaves and had no idea it would bloom.  The plant kind of reminds of the herb lavender.  Personally, I love the Russian Sage Perennial in a grouping or mass planting. The downside is you have to wait until late June to Mid-July for any color on this plant.  Once it starts to bloom it really lights up the garden and landscape space. Russian Sage And Companions In the post below I share some other great plants that look amazing with this perennial in most any garden. More About Russian Sage There are seven species of Perovskia, but P. atriplicifolia is the only one commonly available. Salvia yangii, Perovskia atriplicifolia and commonly known as Russian sage, is a flowering herbaceous perennial plant. There are seven species of Perovskia, but P. atriplicifolia is the only one commonly available. In the first year, you will have to water well until it is established. It does best if you mulch the space where the perennial is planted.  The plant does best in full sun and very dry landscape.  This is a spectacular plant to grow in a mass planting. Please note there are a few different types of Russian Sage.  One of my favorites besides the Perovskia featured on this page is the Denim N’ Lace.   Let’s Connect Thank you for stopping by my short post today on my site.  I would love to connect with you so be sure to leave a comment on this post or reach out on my website.  Do you grow Russian Sage?
