You know, true Italian cooking is basically using what you have on hand. I heard that on a cooking show I use to watch on TV. Ingredients that usually out of the garden used to create a fabulous meal to put on the table for the family is my favorite way of cooking. With that in mind, there is no wonder why I am a big fan of true Italian cooking.
Brens’ Garden Fresh Rustic Meatloaf Recipe
Before starting this recipe I am sure to have a few ingredients from the garden. Pick the herbs like parsley, thyme and garlic chive before preparing the meat.
This recipe has been my creation as long as I’ve been growing my own home garden!
* I want to note that I added Ketchup to the top of the meatloaf to please the kiddo’s in our family. To some, it just isn’t meatloaf without the ketchup on top! You can also use salsa or Italian marinara sauce. There are so many small tomato varieties available today that I love using my roasted tomato recipe as a topping for an Italian spin.
This Garden Fresh Rustic Meatloaf Recipe taste amazing served on homemade bread or served with potatoes. Check out my Rustic Red Potato Bake Recipe on my site to make this a meal. Serve the Red Potato Dish on the side to complete the Rustic Meatloaf Meal. I enjoyed this dish on the deck with a fabulous glass of Napa Valley RED wine. YUMMY!!!!
I’d love to hear what you think about meatloaf. Coincidently, I have a contact page where you can leave me a detailed message. My husband is a huge fan of this meal and I hope your family enjoys it as well.
wow, that looks delicious…can i have a platefull, and did you mention you just made some tiramisu in the fridge????
aaah yes, there’s nothing like using fresh ingredients from a garden:)
IT was super tasty so I hope you give this recipe a try when the garden is putting out some rustic YUMMIES!
These all look so delicious. I make those potatoes quite often. I add sliced garlic to them. The roasted garlic flavor with the rosemary is so good. My kids call them killer potatoes.
Thank you for stopping by my blog – I love garlic too but am to intimidated by them to add slices to the dish. Maybe I will break out of my shell and give that a try this year!
