In this post, I share my all-season Rainbow Swiss Chard plants growing in my home garden. Check out the quick video and a few creative images from Autumn – Winter.
All Season Rainbow Swiss Chard

Why do I call the rainbow swiss chard an all-season plant? In my hardiness zone 5b /6 Ohio the plant will not survive the entire winter outdoors. I dig up the HUGE root of the plants and replant in my dome garden. In the dome, the plant will not go below 40*F and can continue growing.
Here are a few reasons I LOVE Rainbow Swiss Chard:
- The swiss chard plant survives hard frost in my landscape
- Colorful leaves respond to even cold days with vibrant color
- Harvest new growth for a nutritious addition to your meal
- Fun to take photos of to share on social media
Rainbow Swiss Chard Moved To Dome Video
In the video featured on this page, I show how easy it is to dig up the roots of the swiss chard to move to my dome where I can continue to enjoy during the winter. Come spring I need to try and grow this container out in the landscape to see how long I can keep this plant going. Stay tuned by subscribing to my Newsletter featured on my site.
