Kodiak Orange Diervilla Images
Today we grow 3 of the Kodiak Orange Diervilla shrubs in our Ohio Gardens. These images are from spring in 2022. As you can see the shrub is very bronzy with peach and yellow tones early on. During the spring these shrubs are basically in full spring sun. Keep in mind these plants are out in extreme conditions with snow, ice and extremely warm spring sunshine days. The night temperature has dropped to the high 20’s on some occasions.
It isn’t until mid summer when the sun is full and the conditions start to turn humid and hot that the orange starts to come on. Over all the shrub is super easy to keep happy with little to NO maintenance requirements.
I prefer the shrub out in the landscape on its on for stand out color however, it is doing well in a mass planting with perennials and shrubs.
I am anxiously waiting to see a bloom on these shrubs.
