This cheesy appetizer is super easy to whip up and will probably be enjoyed just as quickly! Starting with a roux (butter and flour mixed) to make a thick Beer Cheese that is amazing with Bavarian style pretzels.
Beer Cheese Recipe

One of my sons favorite dips to enjoy at a local restaurant is Beer Cheese. After he brought home leftovers for me to try I decided to come up with my own version. This recipe is why easier to make then the title implies. It just seems like this thick dip would be complicated to make but it is not. Below are the ingredients you will need to whip this up at your next get together or game night.
- butter
- flour
- onion powder
- garlic powder
- cayenne pepper
- milk
- Dijon mustard
- Worcestershire sauce
- white cheddar cheese

Beer Cheese Information

Did you know that dark beers like stouts and malts can produce a deep bitter flavor. I like to stay clear of those when cooking up recipes using beer. Use the same concept of only cooking with what you would drink like when adding wine. I personally like to use ales (light beer) or IPA because they seem to add a smooth flavor. A friend of mine likes to use Non-Alcoholic beer because he swears it has a more flavorful taste in recipes such as this dip. You will have to try this and comment on my post and let me know what beer you decided to use.
