One of my favorite spots to pick up just about everything for home and garden was at a Toledo hot spot. In this post I share what it was like to shop The Andersons General Store.
Spring Arrives At The Anderson General Store
Ever since I was a little girl we would shop the Andersons General Store in Maumee Ohio. I sure do miss it. In this post I share a few photos from the last year they were open.
Check out the unique heirloom seeds I found over in their large seed department. The birds nest gourd seeds found their way into my cart at The Andersons. My hope is that I will have a few I can paint over the winter creat When I shared these on Facebook someone told me they had used theirs as birdhouses. Birds nest gourds grow awesome on fences including split rail if you wrap the vine around the posts. These seeds are going to be started indoors this weekend so I can get them in the ground by May 15 which is our last frost date.
In the Garden Center
In the garden center area, you can always find a large assortment of trees and shrubs. The spring cool hardy plants are just arriving. I found some Bok Choy plants by a company I’d never heard of that I hope to use in my Fairy Garden project I’m putting together tomorrow. Growing Bok Choy in my raised beds is fun. Last year I grew a few from seed and it was super easy. Over the winter I found tons of new recipes to use this year with this veggie and can’t wait to share them on my blog later in the season before harvest.
