  • Always use fresh ingredients, including the potato chips. While you can use the remnants from the bottom of the bag, I prefer to grab a fresh handful. There’s something satisfying about crushing those salty snacks into tiny bits!
  • I always line my large cookie sheet with parchment paper, as it makes cleanup a breeze.
  • Adding kosher salt to the parchment paper enhances the flavor as the cookie dough bakes. Trust me, this trick will become your go-to method for making cookies!

Chocolate and Potato Chip Cookie Recipe The Ultimate Year-Round Cookie Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup softened butter
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts
  • Handful of potato chips (½ cup crushed)

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugars until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla, mixing until well incorporated.

  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; then add this mixture to the butter mixture.

  4. Gently fold in the crushed potato chips and walnuts before adding the chocolate chips.

  5. On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, sprinkle a bit of kosher salt. Drop spoonfuls of dough (about 1 ½ inches in size) onto the prepared tray.

  6. Bake for 7-9 minutes or until the cookies are lightly browned. They will firm up as they cool on the rack.

Notes:

  • These cookies can be made ahead of time and frozen for up to 2 months.
