Last Day of September in the Dome Greenhouse

Here come cooler temperatures in my garden. In this post, I share the Last Day of September in the Dome Greenhouse Last Day of September in the Dome Greenhouse Video In this video, I tried my hardest to share what it is like to have a dome greenhouse.  It really is a magical place to enjoy even if you don’t garden. The forecast is showing temperatures in the low 40*s and many of the tropicals and succulents I have outdoors in containers will not do well in those conditions. This video is embedded from my YouTube Channel. I encourage you to follow me on YouTube at BrenHaas. It is amazing to look back at the documentation of the dome from the beginning of the year not to mention a year ago.  Every day has been a positive learning experience.  I hope to continue sharing about my experience so be sure to ask questions that you may have. Mentioned In The Video In the video featured on this site, I share a few of my favorite things.  Below I share a few photo highlights.  Be sure to ask me questions by commenting on this post. Shiko Eggplant The Shikou Eggplant means ‘Supreme’ in Japanese.  These plants were started from seed and I am not sure how they will respond to the Autumn conditions in the dome.  This will be fun to see how they grow.  This variety is medium-sized, productive, semi-spineless and mature about 75 days. Lime Shrub  Mangave This is the only Mangave I have that could poke ya!  Did you catch it’s sister in the video?  you’ll see my one and only Agave plant I’ve been growing since 2011. Let’s Connect At the end of the video, I had to carry Kink Kitty back up to the house because he was sleeping so sound.  I can’t wait to share more with you as we head into cooler temperatures.  There isn’t must to worry about because by year 4 of gardening in the dome … I’ve got this!   Happy to connect with you so please be sure to leave a comment on the blog post.  Readers are invited to comment on my contact page and I will do my best to email you back. Happy Autumn Gardening,

The recipe below is for Instant Pot or Electric Pressure Cooker users.  You can skip down to the notes in the recipe to read how to use this same recipe on the stovetop.  I would encourage you to seriously consider adding a Pressure cooker to your home appliance.  Besides, we use the instant pot almost every day in my home.  Scroll down to the bottom of the page because the there is a  Mac and Cheese print recipe option! Put lid on for a few minutes to let the cheese melt before removing and stirring.   Serve immediately or with in the hour to prevent pasta from getting mushy.  Mac and Cheese Recipe Up-close I think this recipe is best when you use the cheese you have on hand.  Sometimes I will add a nice shredded swiss cheese or even delicious swiss gruyere.  You can’t go wrong when it comes to fresh in a Mac and Cheese recipe. Cheese Used In This Recipe Using the Instant Pot or Pressure Cooker is so much easier because you basically measure the water and noodles, push a button and let the pasta cook. Once the flavorful noodles are cooked you just add the cheese. Oddly enough, It doesn’t get much easier than that when creating homemade Mac and Cheese. One of my favorite veggies to pair with Mac and Cheese is home grown tomatoes! A dash of fresh ground pepper and its the perfect meal.  This Mac and Cheese Recipe was part of a large dish I divided and left for my son and his college friends and for camp side dish.  Below is a photo of my plate at camp with the Mac & Cheese.
