Texas Farm Girl Shares Farm, Gardening, Food and a New Book

Have you ever been to Texas? I remember my first real photo assignment in the garden world was covering the Garden Writer Association event in Dallas Texas in early August of 2010. It was HOT – and the only thing I could think of is HOW does anyone grow anything down here? We toured some of the most amazing gardens in the United States during that summer event.

The Texas Farm Girl

In today’s podcast presentation I got to talk farm, garden, and food with Rebecca Crownover.  Rebecca has been farming in the panhandle of Texas all her life and is excited to share her adventures in growing with us.  I was really excited to hear about the work she is doing in schools spreading the word to our youth about where their food comes from by encouraging them to read the labels on the food they enjoy.

  1. Food I love from local farmer’s market? Well, it depends on where I live, of course, but my top favorite ever? Fresh tomatoes! Oh, there is nothing better! I want some now, in fact. =D Love farmers and gardening! <3 you!
