I admitted to Stephen that I don’t watch alot of TV because I’m out in the garden but I did see a few clips from the show and WOW… how can he come up with such amazing dishes under the pressure.

How did you get involved with urban gardening?
(podcast 2:20) Stephen shares with me how his family use to live up in the Northwest in a rural community – with an outhouse! He use to cell things from the farm at Pikes Market in Seattle.

You’ve become a celebrity after being on Masterchef, do you find time to garden at your home with your busy schedule?
(podcast 6:11) Stephen Lee shares “I started growing more perennials so it isn’t as labor intensive… Medicinal Perennials and added more trees to create a micro-climate in my garden and that kind of saved me because I get a great bounty from the food and medicine I grow. ”

Do you have a favorite Veggie you enjoy growing?
(podcast 7:55 ) Stephen Lee Shares “Wow.. that is hard… immediate gratification I really enjoy growing radishes. They grow so fast and you can eat them so quick. I save seeds and all the seeds that go into my garden have been harvested from my plants so they are accumulated to my environment so they germinate quicker.”

Do you have any advice to encourage foodie enthusiasts to get started gardening?
(14:22 podcast) Stephen Lee shares “The way I go about life is in order for me to get excited about something I have to believe in it and I have to really want it…Just get a couple of pots and grow a few veggies you really want!”
