Holiday Planning With Southern Living

In July I was checking my list of last minute summer planting to be sure I had enough flowers to dry for my Christmas garland for that coming December.  December is my favorite time of the year but dreaming of Christmas decor in my summer garden has been a tradition for the past 10 years thanks to the beautiful publication of Oxmoor who brings us the pages of Christmas with Southern Living.  This past week I was cuddling up with my favorite quilt and a freshly brewed cup of coffee with the images and notes I’d put together featuring warm meals and gift ideas I am using this holiday season.  I just had to put together this short video with hopes that you will find some ideas to make your season warm and bright as well.

Christmas Planning With Southern Living

After watching this short video share do you see why this Ohio gardener is addicted to the Southern Living publications?  I love the inspiring decor ideas that I think anyone around the country can use in their home and garden.  Quick meals for those days we are super busy enjoying the holidays with family and friends can be found with many ingredients commonly found in the pantry with out an extra trip to the grocery store.  My favorite part of the book just maybe the calendar with note taking sections which allows me to journal what handmade gifts were a hit and who didn’t care for the mint cookies at the Cookie Exchange party!

Stocking Inspired By Southern Living Publication 2004

One of my favorite DIY projects that I was inspired to create from the 2004 publication by Southern Living.  I made these stockings and collected the pinecones that are on the mantel of our country home fireplace.

Do you have a favorite publication that helps you stay organized and inspired during the holiday season?  Please leave a comment so I can check out your suggestions and I hope you will continue to follow me as I share more Thanksgiving and Christmas ideas on my site.
