Decorating for Christmas and New Years Celebrations at my house is one of my favorite things to do.  I love fresh greenery and red bows in the landscape here in NW Ohio.  In this post, I share a quick how-to video and images that will get you making bows in no time.  Enjoy the photos and my video from the archive!

Supply List For Bow Making

You will need to get a spool of red velvet ribbon and some burlap twine to make these creations for your garden.  In the video above I share with you easy steps on how to put these bows together.  Below are the supplies you will need for these landscape bows.

  • 3 yards of Red Velvet Ribbon
  • 10 inches of garden twine ( I used burlap in the video)
  • scissors to cut ribbon and twine

Bows are super easy to make and can be used for decorating year-round.  Carefully removing the middle tie of the bow at the end of the season can ensure the ribbon will be salvageable for many years to come.

The bows featured in this video are used in wreaths and on garland throughout my landscape during the Christmas season.

These bows are super easy to make and won’t break your budget. You can find ribbon on Amazon and your local craft stores. I recommend to stock up when you see the spools of ribbon because they go quickly during the Christmas season.  A dozen large bows will cost around $1 each to make following these directions.   Please contact me if you have any questions.

Merry Christmas from my Midwest Garden Landscape,
