Plant Sale Ad From OwensIt was a rainy day in my garden making it the perfect day to go shopping!  This was the first plant sale I’ve ever attended at a community college.  It was awesome talking with the head of the landscape and turfgrass management department.  The students spent the quarter learning about what is involved with running a garden center and how to grow the plants for this sale.  The money earned at the sale today goes toward major related events the students will attend if they qualify.

In The Greenhouse

A healthy collection on houseplants (tropical) annuals, herbs and perennials in the greenhouse.  I took a few photos with my iPhone to share with you all.

Bring A Friend

I was excited to find some healthy-looking African Daisy … this plant is one of my favorites because it grows to be like a shrub almost by mid-summer in my Ohio garden.  The yellow blooms it will have is a butterfly magnet for sure!  This plant hasn’t been available in most of the greenhouses in my area.  I was sharing with my friend Suellen who attended with me how the only place I could find this variety last year was at Aldi Grocery store in my area!

  1. Hi Bren,

I started a plumeria ( from Hawaii) at least 12 years ago and it is now a very large- 9 to10 foot plumeria which will no longer fit upstairs for the winter. In addition I have a banana tree which has grown larger than I would like to put back in my greenhouse for the winter.

    1. Thank you for contacting me Audrey – I will email you later today for more information.
