One Word Photo Challenge: Purple

One of my favorite hobbies is to take photos of just about everything.   who hosts one of my favorite photography blogs is hosting a ‘One Word Photo Challenge’.   This weeks color is one of my favorites in the garden and so my image comes from my early Spring garden border.

Creeping Phlox Rabbit and Creepying Phlox

Creeping phlox is an awesome ground cover and is one of the first mass color to bloom in my garden each spring.  This perennial can reach up to 6″ height and 2′ wide in landscape plantings and it sure to make a bold statement especially the purple variety.   This plant does best in full sun and requires a little cutting back after it is done blooming to encourage new growth.   Creeping phlox is excellent in rock gardens and attracts butterflies.

    • Yes … one of my darling Nieces gave me that sweet little bunny statue. The bunny is actually hanging out this winter in the bunny barn with my real bunnies. 🙂 I’m going to start tweeting links from your blog – I love your site. Do you have a Twitter account?
