This is the perfect recipe for the loved one in your life who has a weak spot for pastries-turned-breakfast. Pair it with a cup of coffee or even better – a mimosa – and you might have to serve breakfast-in-bed every day! I love how Celebrity Chef Luca Manfè, winner of Masterchef Season 4 says it’s very important to taste your food! I so agree…. be sure to check out this tip and more in the video below.
Panettone French Toast
Rate this recipe
2 egg yolks for egg mixture
1 egg for frying-topping
1 tsp of salt
2 tbsp of butter
3 slices of bacon
1/2 fresh lemon
Add two egg yolks in a glass bowl over boiling water. Whisk together to thicken.
Place 2 tbsp of butter in a separate saucepan to melt.
While butter is melting, and egg mixture is thickening, place slices of bacon on a skillet to cook.
Add the melted butter to a smaller glass bowl and then transfer it into the whisked egg mixture with 1 tsp of salt.
Squeeze half of a fresh lemon into the egg mixture.
Continue whisking and flip bacon to cook fully.
Next, slice Panettone into thicker sections for toasting on the skillet.
Meanwhile fry an egg to add to the topping of the french toast later.
Make sure to place the egg mixture-now with lemon, butter, a pinch of salt-over heat again, and continue whisking.
Once Panettone is toasted, the egg is cooked, and the egg mixture has thickened, transfer all to a plate and enjoy!

[alert-note]What is the most memorable breakfast in bed you ever had. ( please keep it clean!) . My kids use to bring me eggs and toast on my favorite tv tray with cut flowers and a handmade card on Mothers Day when they were younger. I’d love to hear your story so please comment below.
