Who doesn’t want to surround their home with a self-sustainable garden that encourages biodiversity and attracts beneficial insects? With all the media surrounding living simple and helping the environment over the past few years I’ve seen an increase of people sharing on social media practical ways to control pest naturally and living self sustainable lives in the garden. I’m seeing less being shared about that perfect manicured lawn and shrubs planted in perfect rows found in most traditional gardens. The self-sustaining garden composed of a series of well-chosen and diverse plant species that balance and nurture each other. These new sustainable gardens are attracting pollinators and other beneficial wildlife and helping home owners spend more time enjoying the gardens rather then maintaining them. Below are some of the benefits of matrix gardening featured in an inforgraphic. I hope this inspires you as much as it has inspired me to think and grow more natural.

After researching this article and reading more about matrix gardening I realize my gardens are similar and over the years I’ve begun to grow more natural staying clear of fussy high maintenance growing. I must say I tend to spend more time in those natural gardens because they give me a sense of peace and I can actually enjoy them.
