This past weekend I got to learn about chickens and hangout with Author Lisa Steele. What a great weekend to head to the Fair with temperatures in the low 80*s and partly sunny skies over Central Ohio.
Near the Ohio State Fair Grounds the Ohio Village is located featuring 18 buildings including the General Store, Toy Shop, Pharmacy and even the Undertakers. Lisa and I got to enjoy the heirloom garden and admire the apple trees in full bloom near the many vendors that were set up for the event this weekend. This location was perfect for the Country Living Fair that is only in town for 3 days before heading to another major city in the US. Read more about Country Living Fairs on their website.

Lisa and I met back in February at the Garden Blogger Conference in Atlanta Georgia and we are also part of the Garden 2 Blog team who met up in Little Rock at P.Allen Smiths Moss Mountain Farm in April 2016. It was a blast hanging out at the Fair with Lisa.
I had a great time with Lisa at the Fair in my home state. She shared this photo on her Facebook page.
Standing room only at the Fresh Eggs Daily presentation early Sunday morning. It was so much fun to see Lisa Steele fans excited to see her in person. She is the real deal – country gal at heart who is sweet enough to answer everyone’s questions and even rush through an apple fritters after getting a call from the show that a fan had missed her presentation and was hoping to get their book signed. Fresh Fritters involved here.. NOW that is dedication to chickens and her readers!
