Brens’ Buffalo Chicken Dip Recipe

Buffalo Chicken Dip Recipe

There is a first for everything and I can’t help but remember the first time I had this dip.  One of my sisters-in-law had made this for New Years Celebration.  After that, I began to notice the Buffalo Chicken Dip craze move across social media.  Be sure to click on my version of this recipe and print it for your kitchen notebook collection.

From The Kitchen

Taking photos of what I am whipping together is almost as fun as eating the recipe.   Here are some photos of the Buffalo Chicken Dip Recipe featured today.

Cheese

I like to add fresh crumbled blue cheese, large shredded cheddar cheese in this recipe.

Buffalo Sauce

Years ago my brother in law who specializes in grilling up hot wings shared with me this great buffalo sauce tip.  Did you know that buffalo sauce is basically hot sauce and butter?  It’s true!

Green Onions

Adding fresh green onions to this recipe really makes it pop!

Chicken

After being introduced to rotisserie chicken it is all I use in my Buffalo Chicken Dip.  If you don’t have a rotisserie chicken on hand you can use canned chicken or boil a chicken breast.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of real butter

  • 1/2 cup Red Hot Sauce

  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic

  • 2 cups prepared rotisserie chicken (shredded)

  • 8 ounce block cream cheese (softened)

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 2 cups cheddar cheese (shredded)

  • 1/4 cup blue cheese crumbled

  • 1 tablespoon green onion (sliced)

  • Assorted vegetables for dipping

Directions

  • Melt butter and mix in hot sauce with garlic.

  • Add chicken to this mix mixing well before adding cream cheese.  You can microwave for about 1 minute to soften or do this in your favorite stock pot on stove top.

  • Mix in sour cream and cheeses before adding to your favorite oven safe bowl to bake.

  • Bake at 375*F uncovered for about 10 minutes or until the cheese mix is bubbling.

  • Garnish with green onions and extra cheese if desire before serving.

  • This mixture can be melted down in the microwave and added to crock pot. You will want to set the crock pot on high until the dip is bubbly. Turn crock pot to low and add green onions to the top once bubbling.

Maybe to kick the spice from this recipe you could whip up a batch of my Blueberry Lemon Bread to take as a gift for the host of the party to enjoy the next day.

  1. Just want to let you know how much I enjoy your web and FB page, especially all your photographs and pictures showing what’s going on in the garden. I’m 67 years old now and have terrible arthritis so I am no longer as active in the garden as I used to be. Container plants are about all I do now to highlight my porch and give me something pretty to look at out the kitchen window. I especially loved your photographs today (11/9) showing the snowfall in NW Ohio! The burning bush photo was my favorite. Keep up the good work you do Bren because I’m sure I’m not the only one who loves hearing from you, especially when you include all the Furbabies in your posts. I have three dogs and two cats so I’m right there with you. Happy Thanksgiving!! <3

    1. Great to meet you Ginger. I appreciate all the kind words you share with me about my website and networking. I’d love to hear more about your container gardening on the porch. Please be sure to sign up for my newsletter so we can stay in touch.
