Simple Asparagus Recipe

The easiest way to prepare asparagus is the wash it up and throw it in boiling water for a few minutes.  This method is called blanching.

  • about 20 asparagus ( washed well)
  • dash of salt
  • clove of garlic
  • olive oil


  1. Bring six cups of water to a boil.
  2. Add a dash of salt and chopped garlic clove.
  3. Place asparagus in the water for 2-3 minutes.
  4. remove from water adding a dash of olive oil before serving.

  1. Oh how I love asparagus. And I love that you used sourdough bread for the bread crumbs. I’m looking forward to using your recipe. There’s a bundle of asparagus in the fridge ready to go.

  2. I LOVE asparagus. It grows wild in the ditches near my Mom’s house. People were always picking it, but my Mom doesn’t like it so we never did. I didn’t try it until I was in my late 20’s. It is so good and now I know how good it is for me. Yumm!
