In this post, I share a quick video featuring a walkabout Lyndale Gardens in Minnesota.  Check out the photos in this post and consider visiting this public garden.

Welcome to the Park

Lyndale Gardens About With Gardener Andrew

Lyndale Park is a Minneapolis city park on the northeast side of Lake Harriet. Next to Lakewood Cemetery, southeast of Bde Maka Ska is where this enormous greenspace is located. Minneapolis calls it the Grand Rounds Scenic Byway, and is one of the seven districts within, called the Chain of Lakes.

Walkway to the gardens

During this quick presentation that was streamed live Andrew shares with us his vision behind this year’s garden theme in the Victorian layout gardens of Lyndale.  Andrew also explains how he put together a trellis structure in the garden.  This was shared live and totally on the spot so BIG THANK YOU to Andrew for his willingness to share. In this video head gardener Andrew Sawboy shares this year’s work design.

This video can be found on my Bren Haas YouTube Channel.  It isn’t the best quality because it was stream live during the event.

The cute little hand-woven retort is in the New York Times.  You can find more information about the hand-woven thicket structure at: Cheeriup.com. The Minnesota native Kelly English said her structures are inspired by the book “Last Child In The Woods”.

rose garden too hot to take photos

During my afternoon visit, I didn’t go too far into the Rose section of the garden because it was just too bright to take photographs.  I did however snap a few photos on the edge of the garden after walking about in the colorful perennial gardens on site.

The Lyndale Gardens Park Address: 1300 W 42nd St. Minneapolis, MN 55409

WE didn’t spend nearly enough time in this beautiful park and I hope to go back someday.
