This Weekend I’m joining in on instagram: Hashtag Project: #WHPbluronpurpose. What a great way to practice your photography skills and join in the conversation with millions of other people who use instagram. I’m looking forward to sharing some blurpurpose theme images from my garden.
Weekend Hashtag Project is a series featuring designated themes & hashtags chosen by Instagram’s Community Team. For a chance to be featured on the Instagram blog, follow @instagram and look for a photo announcing the weekend’s project every Friday.
The goal this weekend is to capture photographs that are intentionally out of focus. There’s a small window of opportunity when your camera is attempting to re-focus where, if you have your trigger finger ready, you can capture beautiful blur on purpose! This technique often works best in low light, with a little bit of luck & a lot of patience.
PROJECT RULES: Please only add the hashtag #WHPbluronpurpose to photos taken over this weekend and only submit your own photographs to the project. Any image taken then tagged over the weekend is eligible to be featured Monday morning! – From Instagram Blog
How Cool Would That Be … featured on the Instagram Webpage! What a fun way to practice a new technique and connect with others on instagram.

A few days ago Instagram launched their new web profile. At the top of the page you will find features of your recently shared photographs just above your profile photo and bio similar to the timeline on Facebook only you don’t have to update the images because Instagram does it for you. In addition, you can follow users, comment & like photos and edit your profile easily and directly from the web. I hope you will click on the image above and follow me (BGgarden) on instagram.
Have fun with the #WHPbluronpurpose and I hope you will share on my blog post your instagram profile name so I can be sure I am following you.
